The newly created services will become separate central executive bodies.

The State Tax Service will also include units of the tax police. It is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Finance. The Government will coordinate the activities of these services through the Minister of Finance of Ukraine.

The reorganization of the SFS will be introduced by a commission headed by Deputy Finance Minister Sergii Verlanov. Leaders of newly created services must be identified through a competition within 3 months.

The Cabinet approved the reorganization of the SFS by decree of December 18, 2018. The reform takes into account the recommendations of the International Monetary Fund and the tasks identified in the Medium-Term Plan of the Government's Priority Actions by 2020.

We remind that on Dec. 24, 2012, the Presidential Decree merged the State Tax Service and the State Customs Service into a single body - the Ministry of Income. In July 2014, the duties of the Ministry of Income were transferred to the SFS.
