Ukrainians will have 5 consecutive days off at Easter

The Cabinet of Ministers recommends the managers of enterprises, which workers have a five-day working week with two days off on Saturday and Sunday, to carry out work-day transfers in connection with holidays.

The corresponding order of the Cabinet of Ministers dated January 10, 2019 No. 7-p was published and entered into force.

Therefore, it is recommended that employers transfer work days from:

- Tuesday April 30 to Saturday  May 11;

- Monday December 30 to Saturday 21 December;

- Tuesday December 31 to Saturday December 28.

Thus, Ukrainians expect a 5-days weekend from April 27 to May 1, 2019 (April 28 Sunday is Easter, so the day off is postponed until Monday, April 29).

May 9 (Thursday) will be the only, apart from Sunday, weekend for the week, as May 11 (Saturday) will be working day for April 30.

On New Year there will be 4 days off from December 29, 2019 to January 1, 2020. However, the weekend on December 30 and December 31 will have to be pre-worked on Saturdays December 21 and December 28.

It should be noted that these recommendations do not apply to the Pension Fund, Ukrposhta, State Treasury and banking institutions.
