At the same time, the Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov stated that the countries from which foreigners will arrive in Ukraine after the resumption of international flights will be divided into "red" and "green" and different rules will apply to them.
He said this during a briefing on June 10, answering the question whether foreigners arriving in Ukraine from countries with a severe epidemic situation COVID-19 will be allowed into Ukraine.
According to him, the Ministry of Health analyzes the situation in different countries and consults with EU countries on how they plan to admit foreign citizens to their territory.
"We are now considering arrival options so that we have a red and a green zone. The red zone is the country from which citizens will come, where the epidemic situation is worse than in Ukraine. The green zone is the country where the situation is the same. as in Ukraine, or better, "Stepanov said.
He noted that so far these are "preliminary opinions" and the final decision will be made later.
It was also clarified that people arriving from the "red zone" will have to be quarantined for 14 days (in self-isolation or observation), and from the "green zone" - will not need isolation. Additionally, other anti-epidemic measures will be observed.
At the same time, Chief Sanitary Doctor Viktor Lyashko noted that epidemic criteria have not yet been approved at the EU level, but the Ministry of Health cooperates with foreign colleagues and knows that the rate of 40 active cases per 100,000 population is being considered.
"This means that the number of people who currently have the coronavirus is counted deducting the number of people who have recovered and the number of people who have died," Lyashko said.
He added that in Ukraine this figure is now 33 per 100 thousand population. That is, Ukraine will get into the green zone if the EU adopts the norm of 40 per 100,000 population.
"So if a person comes from countries where the epidemic situation is the same as in Ukraine, or better, he will be safe, without observation, to enter the territory of Ukraine and move freely, provided that he has a health insurance policy." , - Lyashko emphasized.
